Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Dance Company Member Receives Scholarship

Dancer Amy Walejewsky received a workshop scholarship on Jan. 20.

The following information was provided by the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA. On Sunday, January 20th, Amy Walejewsky, a member of the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA Dance Company, received a workshop scholarship from the Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey.   This scholarship is awarded to only 12 students at every workshop based upon positive attitude, active participation in the class, dance etiquette, enthusiasm for the work being presented, and effort expended during the classes. The Associated Dance Teachers of New Jersey is a non-profit professional organization for dance teachers established in 1936.  The dance workshops bring top of the line master classes to New Jersey. Press Release: 2012 Scotch Plains Scholarship Winners

The Scotch Plains Fanwood Scholarship Foundation announced the students who have won scholarships for 2012.

The following is a press release from the Scotch Plains Fanwood Scholarship Foundation. This year, with the distribution of $135,750 in scholarship aid to 112 students, the Scotch Plains Fanwood Scholarship Foundation has once again fulfilled its many, varied partnerships with community members, community organizations and individuals.  Community members contributed to the Dollars for Students Campaign used to distribute $24,000 among high school and college students who demonstrated both academic achievement and financial need.  The High School students are:  Olivia Checchio, Rebecca Maioriello, Chloe Thomas, Ryan McKenna, Michael Mannino, Anthony Krajcsik, Bianca Marcazzo, Kevin Hesson, Brett Kovacs, and the college students are Allison …

Letter to the Editor: Scholarship Foundation Thanks Community

The Scotch Plains Fanwood Scholarship Foundation expresses its thanks to the community and local media outlets for their support of our recent Dollars for Students Campaign.

To the Editor: The Scotch Plains Fanwood Scholarship Foundation is most grateful for the community support of our Dollars for Students fundraising campaign which recently featured a house to house canvass of our communities by high school applicants for scholarship assistance.  We thank everyone who answered their doorbell and spoke with our applicants.  We also thank the students who gave up their time to help us reach our goals on a raw and rainy weekend.  Finally, we thank all those members of the Foundation who worked so long and hard to make the Dollars for Students campaign a success.  People who may have missed their student volunteer and who still want to assist the Foundation should return the envelope left at their door or send …
