Oh Brian's Pourhouse will have an updated menu, additional taps, new uniforms and an eventual expansion.
The popular Fanwood pub Flannery's on South Avenue is undergoing changes by the end of this year, starting with a name change to Oh Brian's Pourhouse. Part-Owner and head chef Brian Walter, said the change is "not the end of Flannery's, but the beginning of Oh Brian's Pourhouse." The new pourhouse is receiving 15 new taps, an updated menu and new uniforms for the staff. The outdoors of Oh Brian's is also getting a facelift, it was painted a bright red and is awaiting a new sign featuring the new name. Part-Owner Brian Costello said the two are looking to re-invent what they already are, which Walter likes to say is a hyperlocal pub. "Our food is something we are very proud of," Costello said. He added that the new menu is something they …

Resident Patty Pasko takes the time to thank Sal and Jacquie Merlo for their dedication to their customers during the power outages following Hurricane Sandy.

Thank You Mountain Deli Sal and Jacquie Merlo, owners of Mountain Deli on Mountain Avenue in Scotch Plains were concerned about their customers. With no power they used a generator at their deli to open for business each day from 6am until about 2pm serving hot beverages and sandwiches to area residents. He did this so his customers would be able to have hot coffee and some hot food making little or no profit. Unfortunately because of the loyality to their customers, since they opened for business they are not eligible to collect for any food loss from FEMA. So... all the area …

How many different kinds do you have? Fulton: We have eight extra virgins and eight infused as well as about 15 vinegars. Patch: You must have tried them all. Do you have a favorite? Fulton: Our newest and my favorite is Nocellara from Italy. It's quite diverse. It's great for all-purpose cooking and it also goes great with vinaigrettes, marinades or just for dipping. I also love the garlic olive oil. I'm Italian and I could put garlic on everything. This garlic olive oil is so flavorful. I make garlic bread with it and I don't have to use any butter. …
