The annual “Scotch Plains Day & Street Fair” will take place on Sunday, October 7th from 11am to 5pm on Park Avenue in downtown Scotch Plains. Admission and parking are free. The festival is sponsored by the Scotch Plains Recreation Department. There will also be a Classic Car Show, sponsored by the Scotch Plains Lions Club. More than 100 crafters, artists, vendors and merchants will line both sides of Park Avenue between Westfield Avenue and Grand Street. That portion of Park Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic for the day. There will be plenty of free parking. Car show, contests, music, pet parade and more on September 30th.
The annual Fannny Wood Day will take place from 11a.m. to 5p.m. on Sunday in downtown Fanwood. The day will start off with a car show, followed by the opening ceremony. Among some of the contests taking place are a hot dog eating contest, ice cream eating contest, stuffed pretzel eating contest, bubble gum-blowing contest and hoola hoop contest. Additionally the Kid Zone from last year's Fanwoody Day will be returning. Also returning is the Fotos of Fanwood Contest, winners will be announced at the festival. Musical entertainment will be provided at 12:30, 1:45 and 3:45. Don't forget to dress your pets up for the pet parade, judging will take place at 12:20 p.m. Winners of the Tree-mendous contest will also be announced at Fanny Wood …
