Theft Between July 26, 2012 & August 19, 2012: The victim reported his locked bicycle was stolen from theNorthside Train Station. The value stolen is $500.00 and the description of the bicycle is a Decathlon Sport color Blue. Between August 10, 2012 & August 13, 2012: A resident in the 10 block of LaGrande Ave. reported that she had several boxes on her front porch stolen. The value is $21,000.00. Between August 11, 2012 & August 19, 2012: A resident in the 80 block of Montrose Ave. reported an unknown person stole several solar lights from the front of his house. The value stolen is $ 100.00. Five were arrested in five days for possession of cocaine and marijuana.
Theft On June 19, a theft occurred at a Waldheim Avenue business. A worker stated he left his wallet in the company truck and when he returned the wallet was missing. The wallet contained several hundred dollars in cash. Entry was gained through an unlocked door. On June 21, a theft occurred outside a Gallagher Avenue residence. The victim stated that sometime overnight unknown suspect(s) entered her vehicle while it was parked in her driveway. Once inside the suspect(s) removed an undetermined amount of cash. Edward Byron III was arrested for possession of marijuana in LaGrande Park. Other Police news also includes, theft, tire slashing, and car burglary.
Theft A South Avenue business reported that sometime between 7:30 p.m. on May 29, and 11:30 a.m. on May 31, $450.00 of merchandise was stolen. A Paterson Road resident reported that a several items totaling $9,650 were stolen from their home. The resident stated that the theft occurred sometime between 9 a.m. on June 5, and 9 p.m. on June 6. Criminal Mischief Sometime between 9 p.m. on June 12, and 8 a.m. on June 13, an act of criminal mischief occurred outside a Coriell Avenue home. The victim stated that she received a call from a loan company stating an unknown suspect(s) tried to obtain a loan using her information. Stolen Vehicle A South Avenue business reported that sometime between May 27 and May 28, a rental car was not returned. The vehicle was entered as a stolen vehicle. Two are arrested in Fanwood for possession of marijuana. Fanwood PD also tackle local theft, active warrants and a DWI.
Arrests Driving While Intoxicated Juan Tequitalapa, 29, of Elizabeth, was arrested at 10:52 p.m. on May 1, for driving while intoxicated. The Officer stopped Tequitalapa for a motor vehicle violation at South Martine and Herbert Avenue. While speaking with the driver, the Officer detected a strong odor of an alcohol beverage coming from inside of the vehicle. The Officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle to perform field sobriety tests which he was unable to complete. Tequitalapa was arrested, charged, processed and released to a responsible person pending his court hearing.
