Son Charged With Murdering His Mother in First Union County Homicide of 2013
John Quakenbush has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his mother, Gail Vandewalle.
This release was provided by the Union County Prosecutor's Office. The Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Division arrested a city man early this morning and charged him in the death of his mother, announced Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow. Police were called to a Watson Avenue home on Sunday for a welfare check after the victim, Gail Vandewalle DOB: 10/25/1943, had not been heard from since February 19, 2013. Police searched the residence and discovered Vandewalle in the living room, underneath a blanket. The death was ruled a homicide, and marks the first in Union County for 2013.
