Second Annual "Fotos of Fanwood" Contest Winners Announced at Fanny Wood Day

The official winners of all categories were announced at Fanny Wood Day.

   The second annual "Fotos of Fanwood" contest winners were announced at Fanny Wood Day. Contest coordinator, David Blechinger, said the town plans to continue the contest next year. Each winner was provided with a gift card courtesy of contest sponsor, Unity Bank. Mayor Mahr announced the winners during the opening ceremony of Fanny Wood Day. She congratulaed each winner, handing them their prize and a certificate and posing for a photo with them. Letter to the Editor: Mayor Mahr Thanks Fanny Wood Day Committee

Mahr notes the committee makes the tremendous amount of work look effortless.

To the Editor:  Many thanks to the entire Fanny Wood Day Committee for staging the successful 17th Annual Fanny Wood Day held this past Sunday.  Led by co-chairs Steven & Jason Parker of K-9 Resorts, the team made this tremendous undertaking look effortless.  Our hometown was on full display this entire weekend, kicked off with Friday’s reception at the Pat Kuran Cultural Arts Center where local photographers displayed their entries in the “Fotos of Fanwood” contest.   And on Saturday, residents had to smile as  Fanny Wood Day made the front page of the Star Ledger with “Missing Persons Got Nothing on Fanny”; an amusing take about our legendary Fanny Wood.  On Sunday  Fanwood was looking her very best as upwards of 15,000 enjoyed our …

What's in Store for Fanny Wood Day

17th Annual Fanny Wood Day on Sunday

The following information was provided by Fanny Wood Day. Contests, entertainment, vendors and classic cars are just a few of the things being offered at the 17th Annual Fanny Wood Day to be held on September 30, 2012. More than 60 classic cars are expected for the Car Show portion of the day, to be held in the South Avenue side of the train station parking lot.   The Annual Photo Contest, sponsored by Unity Bank, will be judged on Friday September 28, 2012 at the Patricia Kuran Cultural Arts Center and winners to be announced at Fanny Wood Day. Live music is a large part of Fanny Wood Day, and the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School’s “Cabaret Troupe” is a student-run club consisting of talented teenagers from SPFHS’ award-winning vocal …

Fanny Wood Day to Take Place this Sunday

Car show, contests, music, pet parade and more on September 30th.

The annual Fannny Wood Day will take place from 11a.m. to 5p.m. on Sunday in downtown Fanwood. The day will start off with a car show, followed by the opening ceremony. Among some of the contests taking place are a hot dog eating contest, ice cream eating contest, stuffed pretzel eating contest, bubble gum-blowing contest and hoola hoop contest.  Additionally the Kid Zone from last year's Fanwoody Day will be returning. Also returning is the Fotos of Fanwood Contest, winners will be announced at the festival.  Musical entertainment will be provided at 12:30, 1:45 and 3:45. Don't forget to dress your pets up for the pet parade, judging will take place at 12:20 p.m.  Winners of the Tree-mendous contest will also be announced at Fanny Wood …
