Although summer may be a distant thought, the idea of a Farmer’s Market is still achievable in a cozier setting at Bigg Playdate. Owner of Bigg Playdate, Lisa Schiller said the idea for the market came to her after the hurricane. “It was kind of like the world stopped for 2 and a half weeks,” she said. A winter marketplace is opening up in Scotch Plains beginning this Saturday, Dec. 8 at 8 a.m. The market will be held at Bigg Playdate on East Second Street featuring several vendors from the Scotch Plains Farmer’s Market as well as new vendors that the township hasn’t seen yet. The market will feature a variety of foods and be filled with gifts that are great for the holidays. Paolo’s Kitchen is one of the vendors that will be featured at the winter market.
