Willow Grove Church Hosts Packing Party for Operation Christmas Child Boxes

Children, teenagers, families and people of all ages are invited to join in the joy of the Christmas season a little early by packing gift boxes for children around the world.  Willow Grove Presbyterian Church invites the community to come to Packing Party on Sunday, November 10, at 11:30 am in Alexander Hall.  We will be packing shoeboxes of gifts for children as part of the Operation Christmas Child sponsored by Samaritan's Purse.  This ministry of Samaritan’s Purse delivers millions of gift-filled shoe boxes around the world to boys and girls who are suffering because of war, natural disaster, poverty, illness, or neglect.

Donations of items are being accepted at the church through November 10.  Suggested items for gifts include the following:   Toys - small cars, balls, small dolls or stuffed animals, kazoos,  harmonicas, small balls, jump ropes; School supplies - pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or markers, stamps and ink pads, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books; Hygiene - child's toothbrush, tooth paste, mild bar soap (in a plastic bag), comb, wash cloth; Treat - hard candy and lollipops (please double bag all candy), gum, mints, no chocolate;  Clothes and Accessories - socks, ball caps, sunglasses, hair clips, toy jewelry, watches.

After worship on November 10, adults and children of all ages will fill the shoeboxes with donations as well as make Christmas cards to include in the boxes.  Refreshments will be served during the Packing Party.  If you are looking for a service project your family can do together, come to this event and experience the joy of sharing and giving.
