Fanny Wood Day

The 14th annual Fanny Wood Day is set for Sunday, Oct. 4, in downtown Fanwood.

The day will begin with an open ceremony lead by the Union County Sheriff’s Color Guard. Once again, a special area will be set aside for children, with rides and entertainment as part of the festive occasion. A DJ will be on hand to provide music and will be broadcasting the results of a number of contests being scheduled throughout the day. Contest include a Bubble gum blowing contest sponsored by Provident Bank and back by popular demand, ice cream eating contest sponsored by Double Dipper Café.

In addition, there will be musical performances by “Zev,” followed by entertainment provided “Cover to Cover."

The Cougar Car Club also will host an exhibition of classic automobiles in the Fanwood Train Station parking lot along South Avenue.

The event will also feature food and crafts vendors, along with non-profits and local professionals who will be on hand to provide information and services.

Fanny Wood Day is held at the corner of Martine and South Avenues in downtown Fanwood. The event begins at 11:00 a.m. and will continue until 4:00 p.m.
