New Voices Is This Weekend

The Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Musical Theater Conservatory, which includes two Scotch Plains-Fanwood youth, ends with three performances.

Students in the Paper Mill Playhouse Summer Musical Theater Conservatory hit the main stage for the first time on Wednesday.

Over 100 students ages 10 years old through 18 years old, including Peter Surace and Caroline Scobee from Scotch Plains, are participating in the intensive theater training program, and they will bring all they have learned to the playhouse stage for three performances Friday and Saturday.

The New Voices performances are scheduled for Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., at the Paper Mill Playhouse. The theme for this year's performances is "Thoroughly Modern Musicals," which reviews 15 years of Broadway shows.

Tickets for the show range in price from $22.75 to $38.75. Tickets may be purchased by calling 973-376-4343, or visiting the Paper Mill Playhouse Box Office at 22 Brookside Dr. in Millburn, or online at www.papermill.org.
