Fanwood Police Reports: Jan. 11 to 27

Recent policy activity in the borough.

Fanwood police received several reports recently of someone attemping to break into local vehicles by smashing windows with a brick.

The first two crimes occurred on Paterson Road. Sometime between 11 p.m. Jan. 13 and 8:45 a.m. Jan. 14, someone threw a brick through a windshield of a vehicle parked on the 10 block of Paterson Road. During that same time, someone also through a brick through the windshield of a vehicle on the 90 block of Paterson Road.

Between 10:30 p.m. and 6:45 a.m. that same night, a suspect smashed the driver's side mirror of a vehicle parked on the 20 block of Madison Avenue.

Monday, Jan. 11:

  • Raymond Roberts, 39, was arrested for an active warrant at 12:10 p.m. after a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of North Avenue and Terrill Road. He posted bail and was released.

Friday, Jan. 15:

  • Gary Roman, 42, of Lake Hopatcong, was arrested at the intersection of Terrill Road and George Street after a motor vehicle stop during which officers discovered he was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding Middlesex County Sheriff's warrant. He posted bail and was released.
  • Mary Spadaro, 47, of Scotch Plains, was arrested at 2:35 p.m. after officers responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of N. Martine and Madison avenues and discovered that she was driving under the influence of a substance. She was processed and released.

Sunday, Jan. 17:

  • Andrew Lyons, 21, of Scotch Plains, was arrested at 7:17 p.m. on the 500 block of North Avenue after officers did a field investigation and discovered he had a Fanwood warrant. He posted bail and was released.

Wednesday, Jan. 20:

  • Tyronne Dunn, 38, of East Brunswick, was arrested at 8:32 a.m. at the intersection of Terrill Road and Mary Lane after a motor vehicle stop during which officers discovered he was driving on a suspended license and had an active Plainfield warrant. He posted bail and was released.
  • Alberto Atuncar, 23, of Bloomfield, was arrested at 8:41 a.m. on the 30 block of South Avenue after officers did a field investigation and discovered he had a warrant out of Union. He posted bail and was released.

Thursday, Jan. 21:

  • During routine patrol officers noticed an illegal trash dump on King Street by the PSE&G right of way. Officers located several bags of garbage on the side of the road.

Friday, Jan. 22:

  • Marco Palate, 28, of North Plainfield, was arrested at 8:52 a.m. on the 300 block of South Avenue after a motor vehicle stop during which officers discovered he was unlicensed and had a warrant out of the Union County Sheriff's Department. Palate was unable to post bail, and was taken to Union County Jail pending his court date.

Sunday, Jan. 24:

  • Quiama Howard, 26, of Garfield, was arrested at 2:07 p.m. at the intersection of Terrill Road and Mary Lane after a motor vehicle stop during which officers discovered she had a suspended driver's license and outstanding warrant out of Passaic. She posted bail and was released.
  • Oliver Walker, 58, of Elizabeth, was arrested at 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Terrill Road after a motor vehicle stop during which officers discovered that he had a suspended license and active Paterson warrant. He was taken to Union County Jail after he failed to post bail.
  • Tymyaun Webb, 19, of Plainfield, was arrested at 11:20 p.m. at the intersection of Terrill Road and Mary Lane after a motor vehicle stop during which officers discovered that he had a suspended driver's license and outstanding Scotch Plains warrant. He was brought to police headquarters, where Scotch Plains police then came to pick him up.

Wednesday, Jan. 27:

  • Jameen Murphy, 26, of Asbury Park, was arrested at 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Laurel Place after a motor vehicle stop during which officers discovered he had a warrant out of Asbury Park. He posted bail and was released.
