FW Police Reports: Out-of-Towners Arrested for Outstanding Warrants

Fanwood police activity from July 20 to 27.

In addition to one vehicle-related burglary and one vehicle theft, Fanwood police also kept busy this past week with several arrests of out-of-towners with outstanding warrants.

Below is a complete look at the Fanwood police activity from the past week.

Monday, July 20:

  • Sometime between noon and 11 p.m. Tuesday, someone entered an unlocked car on the 100 block of North Avenue and stole jewelry and cash, valued at $25.

Wednesday, July 22:

  • Henry Lazo-Sanchez, 26, of Union City, was arrested at 3:34 p.m. at the intersection of Martine and LaGrande avenues on an outstanding Ridgefield warrant. Lazo-Sanchez was stopped for a motor vehicle violation when the officer discovered the warrant. He posted bail and was released.

Thursday, July 23:

  • Leonard Nelson, 47, of Elizabeth, was arrested on an outstanding Elizabeth warrant. Nelson was stopped for a motor vehicle violation at 11:48 a.m. on the 300 block of South Avenue when the officer discovered the warrant. He posted bail and was released.
  • Aniyah Walker, 23, of Irvington, was arrested on an outstanding Irvington warrant. Walker was stopped for a motor vehicle violation at 11:19 p.m. on North Avenue when the officer discovered the warrant. She posted bail and was released.

Friday, July 24:

  • Joseph Macedo, 24, of Newark, was arrested on outstanding Little Ferry and Elmwood Park warrants. Macedo was stopped at 3:45 p.m. at the intersection of Martine and Marian avenues when the officer discovered the warrants. He posted bail and was released.
  • Sometime between 7 and 9 p.m., a bicycle was stolen from the 100 block of Beech Avenue. The bike, which was valued at $250, was parked outside the individual's house.

Saturday, July 25:

  • Wanda Fendner, 46, of Morristown, was arrested on an outstanding Morristown warrant. Fendner was stopped at 12:50 p.m. at the intersection of South Avenue and Second Street when the officer discovered the warrant. She posted bail and was released.
  • Jorge Arias, 35, of Plainfield, was arrested on an outstanding Dunellen warrant. Arias was stopped for a motor vehicle violation at 1:29 p.m. on South Avenue by the Fanwood Train Station when the officer discovered the warrant. He posted bail and was released.

Monday, July 27:

  • Monica Johnson, 41, of Plainfield, was arrested for an active Plainfield warrant. Johnson was stopped for a motor vehicle violation at 1:42 p.m. on the 200 block of South Avenue when the officer discovered the warrant. She was released on her own recognizance.
