MyCentralJersey.com: Lance Speaks Out Against Health Plan

The local congressman says he doesn't think the plan will be "an even playing field."

U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance, R-Clinton, says he doesn't think the health care legislation that's currently working its way through Congress will be beneficial to Central New Jerseyans.

Lance says he's against the public insurance option and other aspects of the plan. He also disagrees with President Obama's claim that individuals, who are currently happy with their health care plans, won't be forced to change. Lance says he's concerned that the plan won't be an "even playing field," and that over time more and more Americans will in fact be forced into it, particularly those who work for small businesses.

Lance represents portions of Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex and Union counties, including Scotch Plains and Fanwood.
