The SP-F Raiders track and field team competed against a host of area schools at the Blue Devil Relay Invitational in Westfield on Saturday.

During the meet, Raider Frank Mellana threw a personal record in the javelin. On his second attempt, Mellana recorded a 192'4" throw — the best of all competitors for the day – to power the SP-F boy javelin throwers to a first place finish.

"I was very pleased with my throw and now I'm ready to chase after more than that mark and throw bombs," Mellana said.
