SP-F Track and Field Team Meets at Westfield Again
The Raiders went up the Blue Devils for the second time in a week.
The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High track and field team met on rival turf field Tuesday afternoon for the second time in under five days.
The Raiders competed last Saturday at Westfield in the Blue Devil Invitational. During that meet, Frank Mellana threw a personal record in the javelin, ultimately earning a first place finish. The boys also scored wins in shuttle hurdle, and the girls ranked in distance medley, high jump, shotput, discus and javelin.
On Tuesday, the SP-F track and field stars convened again in Westfield, where they marked several strong performances again. The Blue Devil boys beat the Raiders overall, but the SP-F girls came out on top against the rival team.
