Book Reading at Be Craftful, Pack Gift Boxes for Needy Children at Willow Grove Church

"The Day the Crayons Quit" at Be Craftful: 
Join on Saturday for a reading of “The Day The Crayons Quit”  – a #1 Times Best Seller, this whimsical tale of Duncan, who just want’s to color and the crayons who quit will be read at Be Craftful with a complimentary craft to follow. Readings will be at 11am and 2pm on Saturday.

Vietnam Memorial dedication in Scotch Plains: On Sunday at 1 p.m., the town will dedicate it's latest memorial, which honors the dedication, commitment and sacrifice of the men and women of the armed services of the United States who served during the Vietnam War. It also pays tribute to local casualties of the Vietnam War and all American prisoners of war and those missing in action (POW/MIAs).   

Holiday "packing party" at Willow Grove Church: Children, teenagers, families and people of all ages are invited to join in the joy of the Christmas season a little early by packing gift boxes for children around the world.  Willow Grove Presbyterian Church invites the community to come to Packing Party on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. in Alexander Hall. We will be packing shoeboxes of gifts for children as part of the Operation Christmas Child sponsored by Samaritan's Purse. This ministry of Samaritan’s Purse delivers millions of gift-filled shoe boxes around the world to boys and girls who are suffering because of war, natural disaster, poverty, illness, or neglect. 

Doll sale at Fanwood-Scotch Plains Thrift Shop: 
The Fanwood-Scotch Plains Service League Thrift Shop will hold its annual Doll & Toy Sale from Tuesday, November 5, through Saturday, November 9.  Shop volunteers have collected merchandise for this special sale throughout the year so there will be a wide variety of items including books, puzzles, games, miniature tea sets, trucks & cars etc. Dolls featured in this year’s sale are Monster High, Barbie & Ken, beautifully dressed baby dolls in all sizes and vintage/collector dolls most in their original boxes. Accessories such as clothes, carriages, carriers, and beds/bedding will also be available. All dolls and toys are new or gently used and in great condition.

Donate blood in Scotch Plains: A blood drive will be held, beginning at 8 a.m. on Sunday, at St. Bartholomew Church. Every donor will be entered in a sweepstakes to win a pair of Super Bowl tickets. For more information, please call 1-800-933-BLOOD or email SLynch@nybloodcenter.org
