Sky Yoga Opens, Spooky Saturday at Scotch Plains Library, Farmers Market Today

What's happening today in Scotch Plains and Fanwood.

SKY Yoga opens in Fanwood: The new business at 222 South Avenue will celebrate its grand opening with a 9 a.m. ribbon cutting by Mayor Colleen Mahr on Saturday.

Super Spooky Saturday at the Scotch Plains Library: Area families are invited to don their costumes and visit the Children's Room for slightly spooky stories hourly followed by a related craft activity between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. 

Bring expired prescription drugs to the Fanwood Police Department: 
On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 75 N. Martine Avenue, for disposal. Operation Take Back is a statewide effort, with the majority of New Jersey police departments participating, spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration's (DEA) New Jersey Division, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the NY/NJ HIDTA, and the New Jersey National Guard.

See the Chamber of Horrors at All Saint's Church: An 
evening of performance and horror centered around the works of our greatest author of mystery, horror and imagination: Edgar Allan Poe. Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and 9 p.m. Enacted by professional performers in the atmosphere of a haunted house. Be prepared for the unexpected.

Check out Jumble Store week: The Jumble Store will be "Salebrating" its 80th anniversary of serving the community during "Jumble Store Week." Happenings include their Holiday Kick-Off Sale on Saturday. The store is owned and operated by the Junior League of Elizabeth-Plainfield and serves to raise the necessary funds for the league's charitable programs.

P.A.L. Basketball tryouts: Tryouts continue today at the Terrill Road and SPFHS gyms.

E-cycling at UC Vo-Tech: The County of Union will sponsor a recycling event for electronic equipment on Saturday, so Union County residents can get rid of unwanted computers, televisions and other electronic equipment in an environmentally proper manner. The special E-cycling event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Union County Vo-Tech campus located at 1776 Raritan Road in Scotch Plains. All residents of Union County are eligible to participate at no cost. There is a limit of six electronic items per car.

Visit the Scotch Plains farmer's market before the season ends: The market runs Saturdays in the municipal building parking lot from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. through November.
